Lamp: BERLIN-WHEEL
This unique handcrafted floor lamp is composed of three reinterpreted elements:
– a natural stone base provides grounding and stability
– a bent transparent plexiglass panel serves as a structural spine
– and a reused bicycle wheel spins at the top, controlling the light
Together, they form an installation that connects to its surroundings through light.
Conceptual framework – layers of meaning:
Earth – grounding force (stone)
Human – intervention, structure, and sensitivity (plexiglass)
Mind – cycles of memory and presence (wheel)
The light itself symbolizes awareness and transformation.
The light-bulb is operated by a mechanical dimmer.
By turning the wheel, the brightness can be adjusted.
The wheel can be fixed in various positions, creating continuously varying light intensities.
The gesture becomes part of the experience – light is not switched, but activated by motion.
This interactive installation is not just a lamp –
it is a living object, formed by the balance of materials, their history, and our present gesture.
